Last week we had more visitors. It was so nice to have a little one in the house, he was so much fun and just loved Matt to pieces. I know that Matt will be a great dad, he has more patience than I do at this point, and we all know that patience is a virtue. I'm going to have to work on that. I think it was a good get-away for Betsy, she's been so busy lately with school, work, and her personal life, that I hope she found this trip to be refreshing for her. So, what did we do? We took them to a place called Matheson Hammock Park, perfect for little ones. They had a kiddie area where the water was very shallow, with lots of minnows, and other wild life for catching and placing in a bucket. Matt took a day off and they went to the zoo, which Kayden loved, he knew all the animals, Toucan, Bengal tiger, tortouise, all the monkeys and apes, snakes. It was crazy because I didn't even know what some of them were! We went to Chuck E. Cheese, more fun times, I'll admit we might go back. Friday night Matt took Kayden to a "Movie on the Green." It's where the University shows a big screen movie on a large grassy area at the Main Campus. Friday's feature was Cars. While they were doing that, us girls were finally able to have an adult night out. We went to a new bar called 3834 in the grove. It's a wine bar and eatery, they had a classic rock band playing, so I was in heaven. We had some sparkling wine to start, and by the end of the night, we buddied up with the owner and he bought us multiple rounds of shots. I paid for it the next day, oh boy. I'm too old for that, but it was the owner and I didn't want to dissapoint! Anyway, it's lonely now without them in the house, but next weekend the Uptons will be here, so we won't be lonely anymore! The pic is right outside our place, where Matt and Kayden hunted for lizards all day long!

It sounds like Uncle Matt and Kayden had some serious bonding time! You'll both be great parents Kate. I still don't have any patience in life (chronic horn-honker here) but when it comes to the kids, it's just natural. You love them too much to get worked up over silly things. So, your mom mentioned that the new move might be some time in August? It sounds like the parents had/are having a great time in Hawaii. Love you~Jaime Cassady
Its neet to here about Matt w/kids...Kyle is the same way with Tricia's fiance's son, it makes me so excited for him to be a father one day :) Its great that you live in a place where people like to visit during Michigan's cold months. Unfortunately, we are cold too so our place isn't as applealing :) Good to hear you are doing well and having a good time! I here you on paying for it the next day after drinking...I just can't hang like I used!! Love, Melissa
