Thanks Jocelyn

Thanks for the blog idea Jocelyn! Your email was the deciding factor, especially since we live out of state away from friends and family. With that said, this post is about my family's recent trip to South Florida. My mom and dad rented a condo on Collins Ave. right across the street from the beach, that's where you would find the crew on most days, lounging in the sun, reading, or people-watching. That first Saturday, I had a run in with the local beach patrol. Dad left an open bottle of Presidente in the sand, while he and the boys went to play catch with the football. Shortly after I heard a voice from behind me asking if the bottle belonged to me. I said yes, and Mr. Police officer radioed three more ATV buddies over to write me a ticket. Needless to say, since everyone else in the vicinity had alcohol too, he ripped the ticket up, and my civil infraction was left for another day. Betsy, Bobby, and Kayden were here at the same time, and by the end of the week we were talking in Kayden language, "yes and "thanks" became "yesh" and "chanks." Betsy and Bobby got to enjoy some of the night life South Miami has to offer, and we ate at some of Miami's finest places, like Montys for Stone crab claws, China Grill, Big Fish, and our own little gem down the street, South Fish. It was an amazing couple of weeks, and we thoroughly enjoyed their stay with us.
