Birthdays and Houses Oh My!

This past weekend was very special for Matt and I. On Friday I battled the overnight snow storm to meet Dawn for wedding dress fun, and she purchased a dress, I don't want to give it away, but it is definitely fancy-pants! That evening, we had dinner at Lorraine's and helped set up our unused TV for her. Saturday, we contacted the local real estate agent for the Rainbow Lake area, and she showed us 7 houses throughout the weekend. Out of the 7, there are 3 that we really like! We are property virgins, and the house hunting makes Matt very nervous, but I am so excited over it!

Saturday evening, we attended my Aunt Lin's Mardi Gras party, we ate yummy gumbo, black beans and rice, and the best bread pudding ever! Then we headed down to East Lansing to celebrate my birthday, along with two other friends, Whitey and Stacy. There was a ton of people to share the joy of birthdays, Matt's sister Rhonda drove down from Traverse City even though she was sick, Gregor and Andrea came from one side of the state, while Jen and Andy came from the other, two newly pregnant ladies (Mary Lewis one of them), and one pregnant Britta made the trip to celebrate, and Rachel came in from Chicago. It was so nice to see that no matter the distance, people are still happy to celebrate birthdays! Matt and I are very fortunate to have such caring people in our lives!
