Lovely Sunday
Sunday was my second baby shower that Mom Upton and Aunt Louise hosted for me and Pea Pod. For decor they placed antique baby clothes and bibs around the house, as well as baby pictures of relatives. It was a plated affair with a salad placed in a hand made parmasaen cheese bowl, bread and butter pickles (one of my favorites which they knew) and a home made crescent roll. The drink was a beautiful concoction of fresh colored fruit in a simple syrup and sparkling grape juice, and the desert entailed individual cakes in the shape of a baby booty. All of the food was served on the generations old Fosteria dishes. White linens and chair covers to complete the ensemble. Absolutely breathtaking! The most precious gift was given to us by Lorraine, where she took hand me down, or hand made clothing that Matt used to wear, and placed it in a box with pictures and notes to explain where each piece came from or who made it, it actually brought tears to my eyes. How very lovely....
