Wonderful, Beautiful Spain

I'm so blessed to have had the opportunity to travel with Rach to visit my little sister in Spain. It was 8 days of loveliness. We flew into Madrid where Megan met us at the airport and we took the metro to our hotel, settled in, and headed out to Retiro Park, one of the highlights was the "fallen angel" statue, which is the only monument erected for him in the world. We saw a few other monuments, but just taking in all the green and warm weather was fabulous in itself, the next day we toured Museo del Prado, and the Reina Sofia, two museums famous for artists like Goya, Raphael, Picasso, Dali, and a few others, truly amazing! To top it off we saw a passionate flamenco show, in a very small intimate setting, the footwork and the energy were incredible!

We also visited a coastal city called TorreMolinas right on the Mediterranean, a little cold, but again sunshine, mountains, beach, I could handle the wind for a view like that.

Lastly, we toured Seville where Megan is studying. This was my favorite by far, we saw some famous land marks like the Cathedral, third largest in the world, the alcazar- a palace built in the Moorish style for one of the Spanish Kings, (pic above is from alcazar) and Plaza de Espana. We saw a bull fight, quite brutal, but definitely worth it, the rest of the time was spent sipping sparkling water, cafe con leche, eating tapas, and people watching. It was nice to just sit and soak in the culture as opposed to trying to see everything in a matter of a few days. I can't wait for my next trip!
