The Plague Strikes Again!

Matt got a deer this year, yeah!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, it was with his truck. On Tuesday after a frustrating evening of Christmas shopping, a deer literally ran into the side of his truck. He was fine, the truck has a minor dent probably not even worth fixing, so overall fine, but of course the deer was NOT fine. Here in Michigan hitting a deer is as common as getting the flu, you may not get it yourself, but you know tons of people who have, so you treat it like the plague. Same thing with hitting a deer, you personally may not have hit one yet, but you know at least 5 people who have done so already, so you drive extra carefully most nights, looking in every field for any reflection of light that could possibly be an eye. Anyhow, if the plague does strike, you call the local County Sheriff so he can process an accident report for the insurance company, and then the Sheriff will ask you if you want to keep the deer or leave it to join the thousands of other deer that spend their eternity on Michigan's roadways . What a silly question to ask, of course we'll keep the deer, which was a juicy, tender, little button buck. On an interesting side note, that same night that Matt got the plague, I watched Bambi with Kayden, so naturally I am feeling like we will be eating BAMBI, nevertheless at about midnight thirty Matt and dad went out to the garage to gut the small Bambi like deer, and then yesterday we took it to a processor. Ahhh, the joys of Michigan.

Ok, no more checking Kate's blog when eating or with child on lap. Ah, the blood and gore. Lovely.

Merry Christmas to you two!
