High Culture
Saturday evening Matt and I joined a couple for a fabulous evening out on the town. It started with a yummy dinner at the very divey Bangkok House in Lansing, where we ate Pad Thai, and Tom Yum Soup, spiced with curry and sweetened with coconut milk. After 5 napkins, err, kleenexes, and lots of laughs later, we managed to finish everything ordered! Our next stop was the new coffee house across from Lugnuts Stadium appropriately titled, "Coffee and Chocolate." We got free samples of their flavored truffles, and I splurged and had a half of a frozen coffee drink. It was Soooooooo good! We headed over to Tavern on the Square were we bellied up to the bar, had a few rounds, my specialty drink was cranberry tonics with a splash of lime. The big event of the night was a broadway comedy at the Boarshead Theatre called "Forbidden Broadway" it was a spoof on about 10 or so broadway shows where they take the popular songs in each one and acted/sang out their own very funny version. Matt even got called on stage to serve as a prop for about 5 minutes! I was so nervous for him, but he ended up being just fine. After the show we headed over to "The Exchange" and had a few more drinks, I switched over to cranberry/pineapple juice, still pretty good, and listened to a groovy blues band. We made it home before midnight, and it was a perfect evening for me and Pea Pod, lots of spicy food, tons of laughs, good music, and in bed by midnight with NO hangover the next day. I might have to try this even when I'm not prego!
