So yesterday was Matt's birthday (the 25th of March) and we celebrated with Mom Upton and Loren, Aunt Louise and Uncle Rex, Aunt Jan and Uncle Elmer, and Mom and Dad Myers. We went to the Podunkville bar, and had bar food and beer. No beer for me of course, but it was a leisurely dinner filled with lots of laughs. The best part was that Mom Upton made chocolate pie, Matt and Uncle Elmer's favorite. The recipe is Matt's Grandma Upton's, so it is very special. I am not much of a baker, but I believe in the power of tradition and handing down recipes, it is SO important to who we are and where we come from.
